Summary of Essential Job Functions
The Director of Program Services plans, manages and administers school year and summer enrichment day camps, serving as a brand ambassador to the broader community in a strategic effort to expand both school year and summer services. This position oversees program and service delivery, co-develops enrichment curricula, training of staff, community relations, membership administration, program budget and revenue.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Leadership
- Provides leadership and direction to Clubhouse directors in the management of their designated sites. Attends and participates in Steering Committee meetings and keeps clubhouses advised of issues.
- Ensures an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, with overall responsibility for developing a unique culture.
- Ensures key senior staff are informed of trends and changes.
Strategic Planning
- Contributes to strategic planning and directly leads implementation with clarity of goals, roles/responsibilities, and processes in ensuring effective, accountable working relationships to achieve results.
- Encourages and supports effective board roles and functions, acting as liaison to Site Councils and keeping them advised of activities and needs of the sites. Ensures accountability to the governing Board of Directors.
Resource Development
- Accountable for a summer revenue target of $1,000,000 which include a combination of program services fees, contracts, grants and donations.
- Responsible for the development and management of current and prospective summer partners, securing funding from donors and assures donor retention and upgrade strategies are successfully executed.
- Manages financial resources, participating in the development of clubhouse school year and summer budgets.
- Controls expenditures against budget, making recommendations for expenditures to purchase supplies and equipment.
Resource Management
- Ensures administrative and operational systems are in place, overseeing the maintenance and operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups; works with all Clubhouse directors to achieve organizational goals.
- Monitors progress in achieving results and takes action accordingly.
- Recruits, selects, manages and provides career development opportunities for Clubhouse staff and volunteers. Conducts and attends regular staff meetings.
- Ensures quality improvement of programs by conducting program evaluations and annual written analysis of member needs and interests.
- Prepares and delivers written and oral reports, recommendations and presentations to key staff regarding operational processes, trends, and program quality.
- Compiles monthly statistical reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation.
Partnership Development
- Develops and maintains positive, collaborative working partnerships with schools, institutions, civic groups and social agencies within the community. Represents the organization and interprets its objectives, standards and programs.
Marketing and Public Relations
- Develops and shares with Marketing staff positive Club and member anecdotal stories to increase awareness of BGCSV programs and impact.
- Coordinates with Marketing staff all publicity for programs and services within the Club to the community at large.
