Job Purpose and Impact

Assistant Director, for Derivatives & Commodities Compliance: The successful candidate will join the Governance & Supervision Team of the Derivatives & Commodities Compliance group in assessing, managing and mitigate derivatives and commodities regulatory risks for Cargill businesses with an emphasis on registered/licensed entities across the globe, Training Programs, Policy and Procedure Programs, and Supervision Programs.

The Assistant Director will play a key role in ensuring that Cargill businesses operate in full compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards. This position requires someone who is a self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, ability to implement process changes and improvements, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders. These responsibilities will require knowledge of current derivatives regulation, primarily European and U.S. with ability to acquire knowledge on other jurisdictions as needed. Willing to train the right candidate.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement compliance training programs for businesses, ensuring a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices. 
  • Draft, review, and socialize global as well as licensed entity specific compliance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor key regulatory filings and obligations are met for licensed entities.
  • Review and analyze regulation to determine its applicability to current and potential business activities.
  • Advise senior compliance and business stakeholders on regulatory guidelines relating to derivatives and new initiatives and collaborate with senior staff on complex issues and regulatory reviews.
  • Identify, communicate, and implement efficiencies and improvements to current processes to decrease compliance risk.
  • Experience in coordinating stakeholders in various functions to obtain consensus.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. Provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with registered/licensed derivatives entities (Swap Dealers, Commodity Trading Advisors, Commodity Pool Operators, Financial Service Providers).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Be able to handle a fast-paced global environment.
  • Experience in handling multiple projects concurrently, including planning, execution, and monitoring of initiatives. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Good writing skills to deliver concise, impactful, and cordial communications.  
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Knowledge of current derivatives regulation, primarily European and U.S. with ability to acquire knowledge on other jurisdictions as needed.
  • Experience working with regulators.
  • Experience working with self-regulatory organizations.
