Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Transfer Station Sanitation team, with a focus on waste management support for both commercial and residential customers. Duties include coordinating dispatch activities, managing operational tasks, and ensuring smooth execution of day-to-day functions at the Transfer Station. Additionally, provides administrative and business support to the department through a variety of essential clerical and operational responsibilities.
This is a temporary, full-time position.
Pay Range: $18/hr. - $20/hr. (Depending on experience and qualifications)
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Investigate and resolve customer inquiries, disputes, and service issues promptly and effectively.
Serve as the subject matter expert for processing customer transactions utilizing specialized scale software.
Coordinate and dispatch field staff as needed, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Perform cashiering duties as required to support operational continuity.
Provide entry-level administrative and business support for daily departmental functions.
Communicate professionally with customers via email and phone to address questions, concerns, or requests.
Research, document, and analyze data using specialized camera and billing software systems.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) 2 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
1- year of customer service experience 1- year administrative experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic skills in PC and systems application
Good customer service and telephone etiquette skills
Good organizational skills
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to adapt to various working environments
Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
Ability to work under close supervision
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The incumbent works in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. The incumbent will be required to stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
The hours of operation at the Transfer Station are Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Monthly staff meetings may be scheduled at 7:00am.
