Position Overview:

Diligent are looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of development to join our Centre for Global Product Innovation in Budapest and together build our new comprehensive Data Platform. We collect information from tens of thousands of sources and process this large amount of data with various tools including ML classification, NLP, and tagging to provide input for the Data Science team and a wide range of reports for our clients, all built on native AWS.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to apply effective analysis, design, programming, and testing skills to produce and maintain scaled SaaS software solutions. They will be driven, resourceful and not feel intimidated by significant technical challenges. They will want to take ownership of the features they are working on, proactively drive improvements in software design and development practices, and might work with more junior members of the team to help develop their skills and optimize the performance of the team over time

Key Responsibilities

• In addition to core development activities for core modules and integration projects, you will be required to:
• Support multiple teams in setting technical direction
• Influencing the engineering culture of the teams. Focusing on continuous learning, improvement, and collaboration.
• Mentor and coach the cross-functional team and individuals.
• Design, code, review, and test assigned features and user stories, in accordance with the agile methodology employed by Diligent
• Collaborate with the product owner and engineering manager in the analysis and documentation of technical requirements and user stories for assigned features
• Influence the design of the future state of the product, designing and delivering prototypes, for both front-end and back-end components
• Producing high-level technical design artifacts for major stories, can lead technical architecture and implementation of platform-level initiatives
• Assist with production of high quality operational and system documentation as required Communicate effectively with other development teams, production operations, and several other technology groups, to ensure regular smooth delivery of working software to production

Required Experience/Skills

• 7+ years experience in a hands-on development role at a commercial software company
• Experience with AWS services and solutions
• Expertise in designing and implementing distributed enterprise software solutions.
• Experience with event-base architectures, messaging patterns and microservices
• Strong experience with Python
• Knowledge of React, TypeScript and Redux
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with at least one CI/CD system
• Successfully manage own workload, and take personal responsibility and ownership for delivery, behaviors, and self-improvement
• Strong code review, mentoring and refactoring skills
• Good written and oral communications
• Solid troubleshooting ability and skills
• Experience working on an agile team, providing estimates and reporting progress
• Problem-solver attitude - Technology agnostic approach
• Keen to improve processes and share knowledge across the team

Preferred Experience/Skills

• Knowledge of various AWS data storage solutions, CDK, Terraform
• Experience with NodeJS
• Keen to learn more about new languages and frameworks
• Experience supporting multiple development teams
