JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

We are searching for an individual to serve in the capacity of a field experience supervisor. This academic position is part-time for one semester, with the possibility of an extension. This academic position involves supervising our field experience students in Elementary and Early Childhood education (PK-4).

Responsibilities include (1) observing a cohort of up to 15 students in schools within a 80-mile radius of University Park, (2) conferring with mentor teachers, (3) assessing student work, (4) attending monthly supervisor meetings at University Park, (5) conducting a weekly seminar for your cohort of students at University Park, (6) adhering to course syllabus provided, (7) holding three-way assessment conferences with each student and mentor at the mid-point and at the end of the experience, and (8) recommending a final grade for the course.

Certification in elementary education or certification as a school administrator is required; Five (5) years of successful teaching or administrative/supervisory experience in basic education and experience in supervising student teachers are strongly preferred.
