Description

 

EHS Specialist. The EHS Specialist on 2nd Shift performs a variety of tasks dedicated to making employees safety conscientious and aware of potential hazards to reduce accidents and make the company a safe and desirable place to work.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Perform and maintain AAR Safety and Environmental audits.

  • Conduct appropriate safety and environmental training classes.

  • Performs in plant accident investigations to determine root causes, then develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.

  • Training and updating of training with regards to environmental, health and safety issues such as hi-lo driver training, accident investigation, respirator fit testing training, hazard communications, etc.

  • Coordinates safety efforts with plant supervision and safety committee.

  • Maintain records on accidents and audits.

  • Analyzes data to find accident trends and develop remedies for unsafe conditions or actions.

  • Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct, ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting safety; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

 

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 1-2 years in a similar role.

  • Willingness to participate in on-the-job training for OSHA, RCRA, CPR First Aid & AED classes, injury, and accident investigations.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $23.13 to $28.15 hourly. This range reflects the base pay for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location.
