The Chassis Systems Control NAFTA Product Division develops innovative solutions for active driving safety including highly automated driving. Areas include: Antilock Braking Systems(ABS), Traction Control Systems(TCS), Electronic Stability Control(ESC), Sensors (wheel-speed, steering-angle, and yaw-rate); Electronics for occupant and pedestrian safety (airbag control and crash sensors), Driver assistance systems (Predictive Emergency Braking, and Night Vision Networked solutions) As a leading supplier in the automotive industry, Robert Bosch LLC has made its Farmington Hills and Plymouth Michigan facilities the headquarters for its North American automotive businesses. Job Description

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for negotiating system and software requirements with the  customer.
  • Responsible for analyzing  internal and external requirements.
  • Responsible for select the right brake product that fits customer needs.
  • Responsible for translating customer requirements into high level design. This includes maintaining the system and part of the software architecture for the customer project.
  • Responsible for creating system level tests to validate customer requirements.
  • Act as technical interface for conventional and start-up customers.
  • Support the functional safety activity in the customer project.
  • Support the FMEA process for the customer project.
  • Support projects during acquisitions phase.
  • Act as reviewer for derived requirements and design proposals.
  • Analyze and implement customer requirements as needed.
  • 10% of travel may be necessary to Bosch & Customer Test Facilities in US & abroad for summer & winter validation of the assigned functions
  •  Flexible, in order to participate in test sessions in different locations (in and outside of the U.S. during all-weather seasons).

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of work experience developing algorithm for the automotive industry.
  • 3 Years of experience with requirement engineering using Doors.
  • 2 years  Experience with developing high integrity safety critical automotive system and software.
  • 2 years Experience with FMEA in customer project.
  • 2 years Experience with Functional safety analysis according to ISO26262.

Preferred:

  • MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related.
  • 7 years of work experience developing algorithm for brake system controllers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and vehicle drive line experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill.
  • Prior experience in automotive techniques, vehicle dynamics and control theory.
  • Team oriented working style.
  • Past experience dealing with OEM customers with strong negotiation skills.
