Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for a Sustainability Analyst (Experienced or Senior) to join our team in Mesa, AZ; Seal Beach, CA; Berkeley, MO; Ridley Park, PA; Arlington, VA; or Tukwila, WA. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support efforts to meet emerging disclosure requirements and contribute to the enterprise sustainability report.
  • Develop tools to assess and calculate all greenhouse gas (GHG) Scope 3 emissions categories including detailed documentation outlining methodologies, data sources, assumptions, and quality control measures.
  • Support development of the global data infrastructure to collect, analyze, and report on energy, water, waste, and greenhouse gas data.
  • Enhance existing processes for internal controls including command media and communication in support of annual disclosures.
  • Enable visibility of sustainability metrics in support of operational sustainability targets.
  • Respond to customer or business unit requests for sustainability data and insights.
  • Manage sustainable operation targets, performance tracking, and guidance for the company including process governance and communication.
  • Lead data analysis to research, benchmark, capture stakeholder insights, intelligence, and analyze current sustainability trends.
  • Develop relationships and drive change for cross-functional initiatives and sustainability priorities across the company.
  • Proactively improve existing approaches and processes.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to troubleshoot process and tool issues, determine root cause and recommend solutions.
  • Represent Boeing and the Global Enterprise Sustainability organization at internal and external global stakeholder engagements.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. Currently 2-3 days a week.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, engagement, consulting, and/or program management
  • Experience with data systems including Enablon, Workiva, and Tableau, or other data collection & visualization tools
  • Experience leading and working in a cross-functional and complex global environment, and success in building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders and executive management
  • Experience working in ambiguous environments with continuously evolving requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienc
  • Master's degree in Business, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related professional certification (PMP, LEED AP, SEA)
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Engineering, or Applied Statistics/Mathematics
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, engagement, consulting, and/or program management
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas policy requirements, sustainability/climate reporting frameworks, and standards, including the GHGP
  • Experience with greenhouse gas policy requirements or sustainability/climate reporting frameworks and standards
  • Experience with greenhouse gas management practices, including calculating and reporting GHG emissions in accordance with GHG Protocol and other climate reporting standards or framework
  • Experience with data systems, roadmaps, and digital transformation
  • Experience working on an Agile team and with Agile concepts
  • Ability to work independently and through cross-collaboration

Typical Education & Experience:

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent
