About the role

Location: Canton MA, Chicago IL or Toronto Canada (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)


In this position, you’ll be based in the Canton MA, Chicago IL or Toronto Canada office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. Our Issuer Marketing team support our global Issuer Services business lines behind the scenes ensuring the delivery of our business priorities. These include Registry, Entity Services and Investor Engagement.


The Issuer Marketing team is a centralized, shared resource across regions. The team works closely together each business unit Portfolio Marketing team, to create great campaigns and drive revenue growth. We provide customer and market intelligence, brand strategy, campaign development and execution and strategic client pursuit (proposals) as a ‘center of excellence’. All marketing projects bring together marketing expertise, best practice, consistency to everything delivered to clients, and leverage global content while ensuring local relevance and market specific requirements.

A role you will love


The Events Manager will be responsible for executing Computershare events in support of business and marketing objectives. This includes planning, development and execution of virtual and in-person events and experiences for future and existing clients, in-region and possibly across regions. The type of events includes, but are not limited to, webinars, virtual and face-to-face events, roundtables, industry events, workshops, networking events, social gatherings and other events as needed. This role is also responsible for managing its suppliers from an operation and budget perspective and measurement of event performance, event optimization and return on investment. 


The role works closely with marketing colleagues, business leaders, sales, business development and others to promote and follow-up on events and track performance.


Primary Accountabilities 

  • Support the Marketing Business Partners in each region to deliver compelling events and experiences that drives target persona and audience engagement, leads, pipeline and revenue. This includes but is not limited to activity on trade conferences and exhibitions, client conferences, briefings/networking events, webinars, hospitality and other events.
  • Identifies the right mix of associations and events to attend and or sponsor based on business objectives and target audiences. 
  • Understands key personas and recommends event experiences based on persona intelligence.
  • Manages event expectations, scope, budget and all aspects of execution – pre, during and post event
  • Work with colleagues within the Delivery team to promote and deliver effective events within agreed budgets and timescales ensuring that the end-to-end client experience is consistent and seamless.
  • Project manage events end to end from pre-planning through wrap-up, post-event activities, for on time execution, managing competing priorities.
  • Develop and deliver breakthrough ideas and innovative event activities / tactics that drive engagement to continuously evolve event initiatives.
  • Advise Marketing Business Partners and Business Units on best practice and make recommendations to improve event outcomes based on the recorded performance versus marketing and business KPIs.
  • Own our digital event management system, registration platform and event communications - continuously improving all aspects of the end-to-end customer journey and driving internal efficiencies.
  • Own our virtual meeting and webinar platform - be the subject matter expert on how to conduct effective webinars.
  • Create feedback mechanisms, including surveys, to gather actionable feedback from events delegates
  • Measure event performance, event optimization, audience generation and return on investments
  • Create metrics illustrating how each event has performed against pre-defined objectives, capturing learning points and recommendations for future events
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship and activities with external vendors, event partners, including source and review suppliers of all branded merchandise and events-related equipment in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensure that thorough risk assessments are carried out for all events that we organize or attend
  • Actively improve systems and processes to support the ongoing success of the global tea
