As our IT Infrastructure Administrator II or Senior, you will:

Be responsible for the research, configuration development, installation, support, and maintenance of computing resources that support daily operations and services provided by Southwest Power Pool. This includes researching, designing, and documenting systems and applications, and identification and implementation of automation opportunities within department/team processes. This position performs research, installs, configures, supports, and maintains systems and applications, proactively promotes efficiencies in department/team processes and procedures, and prioritizes automation efforts that are crucial to the success of the IT department and SPP. Many of the supported computing resources have significant economic impact and ensure against loss of life and property. The accurate and reliable functioning of these resources is critical to the operation of Southwest Power Pool and its members.

To be successful as the IT Infrastructure Administrator II or Senior, we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in an Information Technology related field, or combined equivalent experience
  • Senior: A minimum of six (6) years infrastructure support experience 
  • Level II: A minimum of three (3) years infrastructure support experience
  • The incumbent’s experience must demonstrate effective computing and problem solving skill
  • An effective knowledge of enterprise server operating systems, applications, hardware configurations, hardware upgrade or repair, problem solving, and troubleshooting skill
  • Knowledge of tcp/ip v4 and v6 networking as it pertains to systems configuration
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Good customer service and organization skills
  • Technical certification pursuant to the Infrastructure Admin Technology Training Certification Program. The following list of technical certifications are examples for this role and are not to be considered a complete list:
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

    • Red Hat Certified System Engineer

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible

    • VMWare Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization

    • CyberArk Level Two: Defender or Level Three: Sentry

    • *If certification is not already held the selected candidate will have 2 years to meet this requirement.

Preferred:

  • Scripting skills are preferred

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
