Reporting to the Divisional Controller, the Senior Manager, Accounting has overall responsibility for ensuring company financial transactions are accumulated, classified and recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP standards and all regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for the oversight and execution of various accounting functions, including General Ledger and Monthly Close, Accounts Payable, Revenue and related commercial expenses such as commissions and royalties, AR, Inventory/costing, Payroll and Benefits, Long-lived assets (including leases, fixed assets and intangibles), Cash Management, Financial Analysis, Tax matters and compliance, and Management and Financial Reporting. The role collaborates with the financial planning and analysis, other business unit accounting operations, and business partners on a variety of topics, including financial reporting, compliance, audit and tax matters.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Directs and executes the timely production of accurate, reliable monthly divisional financial statements to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements for various accounting functions and ensures compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
• Leads financial close activities for various accounting functions including month-end journal entries, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Supports financial reporting and compilation for various operations and commercials matters, such as commissions, royalties, vendors, government authorities, among others
• Supports various tax activities including compilation, filing and payments, monitoring of requirements and changes thereto, audits, and support on business process changes and related tax implications
• Coordinates and supports with external auditors (financial, debt, tax and operational related) to provide required documentation and analysis for audits.
• Participates and support business unit cash flow and liquidity transactions, initiatives and reporting to ensure sufficient liquidity and compliance with corporate objectives
• Participates and supports finance in periodic and annual operating and capital budget process
Process
• Active in process documentation, cross-training, benchmarking, and key metric reporting
• Identifies, directs and leads finance and process improvements (e.g. close and reporting, system/ERP implementation and enhancements), technology enhancements and automation, data analytics, and master data governance and maintenance activities
• Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
People and Collaboration
• Actively supports the development of the finance and accounting organization, staffing needs and training requirements
• Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities; establishes expectations, provides performance feedback and fosters an engaging environment for the team
• Promotes business partnerships with other departments, e.g., distribution, product development, commercial and customer experience and other enabling functions (IT, HR, Procurement, etc.) to improve operational performance and efficiency.
• Ad hoc requests and other projects from senior management (e.g. acquisition integrations, strategic initiatives, funding/capital matters, etc.).
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• CPA credential; 3+ years in Public Accounting and/or Corporate Accounting in a managerial role (for an enterprise with >$250 million in annual revenue)
• ERP experience required; D365/Microsoft, SAP Business One or Oracle/JD Edwards highly desirable
• Diligence, strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently

• Works well in a team environment
• Advanced level Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications
