General Job Duties:
- To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace.
- To follow Decostar policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook.
- To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.
- To Understand the employee’s rights under the OSHA Act, EEOC, FLSA and do not allow for discrimination against any employee exercising their rights.
- Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards.
- To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace including: training of new employees, reporting unsafe acts or conditions and correcting or commending health and safety performance.
- Ensure that all accidents or injuries are reported immediately and actively participate in the accident investigation and completion of all open action items.
- Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company.
- To exhibit teamwork and leadership skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
- To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.
- To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
- To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.
- Have knowledge of workplace health and safety standards visitors and contractors to Decostar.
- Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal and external customers.
Specific Job Duties:
- Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving reports; prepare exception reports as required.
- Complete monthly vendor reconciliations.
- Review GL account coding and process invoices into the A/P system within the proper accounting period.
- Research vendor invoices and inquiries.
- Prepare and audit manual and system-generated checks and wire transfers.
- Process and audit employee expense reports.
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash funds and employee advances.
- Prepare accounts payable journal entries for month end closing.
- Maintain accounts payable files, track open issues with suppliers, and properly escalate issues as needed.
- Prepare other analyses and schedules as required.
- Participate in and recommend improvements to the accounts payable process by tracking key performance indicators, A/P first run capability and other measurable reports.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Demonstrate ability to work independently, but with appropriate supervision, the responsibilities and projects assigned to the position.
- Proficiency in MS Office with advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to business developments, transactions, records, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
