South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital, located in Woodstock, We take great pride in ensuring every patient receives gold-standard care and a low-stress experience. South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinary technician to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will have experience with ultrasound, dental x-ray, digital radiology, rooming patients, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understands the importance of client education, and is a positive and supportive team player. Orthopedic experience would be a bonus. The knowledge of basic technician skills is a must. Our hospital strives to find a balance of work and life for our employees. Requirements:

  • 2+ years of veterinary technician experience

  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment

  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint (low stress)

  • Team player willing to continue to learn

  • Positive and motivating attitude

  • Compassionate towards our patients and clients

Qualifications 

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. 

  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements. 

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
