Job Description Summary

The Lead Instrumentation Engineer has technical ownership and responsibility for instrumented systems of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and balance of plant (BOP) fluid systems.

GE Vernova is looking for an experienced and driven engineer to join our global Instrumentation Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of instrumentation solutions across new unit projects and product applications, supporting cutting-edge gas turbine technology that powers millions of homes and businesses worldwide.

As a Lead Instrumentation Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for instrumented systems across gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and balance of plant (BOP) fluid systems. You will ensure execution excellence through engineering analysis, design studies, drawings, specifications, bills of material, wiring diagrams, and resolution of complex customer and field technical issues. You will also act as a key technical interface across functions and help drive standardization, quality, and continuous improvement.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead New Unit project execution globally, from design through customer delivery
  • Provide technical ownership for instrumentation scope across GE Vernova’s product portfolio — Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator, and Balance of Plant
  • Develop, review, and approve instrumentation drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and technical specifications in GTCC PLM
  • Develop, review, and approve wiring diagrams in EPLAN
  • Oversee and maintain project documentation, including schematics, instrument lists, and signal lists, in AVEVA
  • Perform and lead analysis and design studies for instrumented fluid systems
  • Drive resolution of complex technical issues related to instrumentation design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and field operation
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, controls, electrical, systems, and project engineering teams to ensure robust and integrated design solutions
  • Lead design reviews and support milestone discussions across the product lifecycle
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
  • Support standardization, process improvement, and lessons-learned incorporation across the instrumentation engineering function
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing, and field/service teams as required to ensure successful technical execution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in instrumentation, control systems, power generation, turbomachinery, industrial systems, or related applications

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong experience with instrumentation engineering principles, instrumented fluid systems, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control system interfaces
  • Demonstrated experience executing engineering scope for complex projects in power generation, oil & gas, process
  • Note:
