Registered Nurse (RN) – Springfield Memorial Hospital

Fulltime

Mid-Shift: 11am - 11pm

 

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse provides total age-appropriate patient care immediate post-op, as patients are recovered/waking from anesthesia following surgery or procedures. They will provide family visits for patients as appropriate during recovery period and will serve as an inpatient pre-op holding area for patients coming from ED/nursing units to the OR.

What You’ll Do:Across our hospital, RNs are trusted to:• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to individual patient needs.• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans and evaluate outcomes.• Collaborate with physicians, specialists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.• Administer medications, treatments and interventions aligned with hospital protocols.• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families navigating illness or injury.• Lead or support patient safety, quality improvement and professional development efforts.• Supervise LPNs, CNAs and unlicensed assistive personnel, fostering a team-based environment.

Education, Licensures & Certifications:• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)• Active RN license in the State of Illinois (or ability to obtain)• Current BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required based on unit

 

Location:All positions are based at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL, part of Memorial Health’s network of care.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Licensed as RN in State of Illinois.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing.  Must be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
  • Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials.
