Senior Systems Engineer – Linux/Unix

Job Introduction:

At Parexel, we are a leading Clinical Research Organization company specializing in delivering life-changing medicines to patients. We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cutting-edge systems. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and help us drive innovation.

Who we are looking for:

Reliable individuals with proven experience working as a Senior Systems Engineer or in a similar role. Who are passionate and knowledgeable of Linux/Unix and Automation/Orchestration technologies focusing mainly on build out, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our platforms and infrastructure. You will become part of a diligent team of engineers that deliver infrastructure solutions to host mission critical applications on-premises and in the cloud. That possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills while demonstrating impeccable communication skills.

What you’ll do:

• Responsible for technical management, operation, and maintenance of Server infrastructure.
• Defines, reviews, and maintains hardware/software technical standards, especially related to installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of systems.
• Conduct research on industry trends, emerging technologies, software, and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
• Keeps IT management abreast of any changes across multiple technologies which may impact business decisions.
• Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to other team members and teams.

Additional details:

5+ years working with various Linux/Unix Distributions (RedHat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris) is required. Experience managing Linux servers (Satellite, Oracle Linux Manager), and experience with scripting / automation technologies (Terraform, Ansible), and with Linux/Unix patch management processes is necessary to perform the role. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
