Epic Community Connect (Community Connect) is a program offered by Epic and is a newly established enterprise program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). In support of Community Connect, HealthIT will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the existing EHR modules, third party applications, and infrastructure and security at non-VUMC locations. The Associate Director, Community Connect Programs has a key role in managing the implementation and ongoing support services of the new program and will be responsible for providing direction and coordination among internal and external teams. The role will integrate closely with application teams, technical teams, and operational and support teams from VUMC, Connect sites, and Epic to drive program success and ultimately a high level of customer satisfaction among Connect sites..
Primary Responsibilities
Leads and manages the IT relationship between VUMC and the Connect organization(s).
Leads and supports a team inclusive of Manager and Analyst roles.
Actively contributes to the ongoing strategy and optimization of the Connect offering with other senior and executive leaders.
Meets and interacts with Connect stakeholders at all levels, on an ongoing basis.
Defines, plans, tracks and manages key resources.
Leads Connect related projects and programs from early planning through go live and ongoing support.
Manages communication to Connect sites during system outages, including expected impacts and recovery times.
Supports VUMC Policies and Procedures in support of EHR utilization (e.g. Change Management, Privacy & Security).
Supports Connect sites by facilitating change requests and issues resolution, serving as primary contact for the Community Connect program and making regularly scheduled visits to each Connect site.
Manages the overall operations in accordance with policies, departmental standards, and governmental regulations.

Proven working knowledge of Epic applications.

Project Issues Management (Advanced): Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in resolving project issues in challenging and complex situations. Often takes a lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to resolve high priority issues. Manages internal and external project issues in a way that brings disparate resources together to resolve issues and complete action items that contribute to the success of the project. Consistently delivers solutions in a creative and imaginative manner while setting a standard for others. Contributes to the development of best practices for Issues Management for the organization.
Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms.
