Reporting to the Technical Director, the Technical Advisor is responsible for the execution of Sterigenics Expert Advisory Services (SEAS) projects. This includes, assisting the Technical Director in the development of protocols and reports, coordinating project activities to ensure adherence to timelines, executing experimental process runs and related technical procedures, analyzing and interpreting data and providing technical support related to the sterilization of medical devices, food, pharmaceuticals, and other products. Travel is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Draft, revise and approve technical documents including protocols, final reports, addendums, and project documentation.
- Analyze dosimetry data to develop and validate sterilization processes.
- Coordinate and execute experimental process runs according to project protocols and timelines.
- Interface with internal departments (Sterilization Facilities, Laboratory Services, Customer Service, Sales, and Management) and external clients as a technical liaison.
- Communicate technical information clearly to both internal teams and customers, including providing training to facility personnel.
- Provide direct Technical Support to Irradiation Facilities.
- Support customer and regulatory audits with relevant technical expertise.
- Present technical findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and timely project schedules and update project status using project management software.
- Monitor project costs and notify the Technical Director when budget thresholds are approached or exceeded.
- Ensure accurate distribution of all project outputs to relevant personnel and customers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean process flow enhancements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.
Regulatory Compliance
- Apply technical knowledge associated with regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, ASTM, FDA, etc.).
- Know and follow company policies and procedures.
- Complete required training on time.
Competencies of the Position
- Experience in radiation sterilization methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with statistical software and word processing applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient with public speaking and client interactions.
- Able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a science related discipline, or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in validation of medical device radiation sterilization processes.
- Prior Quality or Operations experience in radiation processing.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, telephones, photocopiers, projectors and file cabinets. Typically works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand/walk for 10% of the day and 90% of the day sitting at a desk or on the computer. Must be able to occasionally lift a maximum of 50lbs.
Travel Required:
Travel is required during the business day. Travel can be up to 35% per year.
Pay & Benefits
Salary Range: $87,500 - $142,000 per year; depending on experience.
