Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Campus Store provides a range of branded apparel and merchandise for the University community to express their pride and belonging to the University of Auckland. The Campus Store is primarily a Monday to Friday operation with up to 6 evening and weekend slots, to support graduation and other key University events.

We are seeking an experienced retail assistant with good commercial acumen for the fixed term role of Retail Assistant. In this role you will deliver outstanding customer service to our core customers, and the be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Campus Store. This includes managing and expediting online orders, merchandising, in store stock management, responding to customer enquiries, cash reconciliation and open and closing responsibilities..

This role is part time (28 hours per week), Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm, with occasional evening and weekend shifts by mutual agreement.
This is a fixed term (July 2023 to December 2024) opportunity.

Qualifications

He kōrero mōu | About you

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Experience in retail sales, service delivery or administration
• High level of competence with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook
• Commercially aware with good numerical skills and attention to detail
• Passionate about providing excellent service to customers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive attitude and terrific team player

Preferred:

• Working knowledge of Vend, Big Commerce or equivalent retail specific software
• Experience of retail sales in multi-stakeholder environment
