Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Aircraft Maintenance Manager will manage the fleet maintenance schedules of aircraft in a university-based FAA Part 141 flight school. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, modifications, alterations and inspections on EKU's fleet of aircraft are completed in accordance with applicable FAA regulations. The position will coordinate and manage the inventory for spare parts and consumables and provide direction for all aspects of an aviation maintenance operation. The position requires an individual to be capable of exercising independent judgment, proficient in managerial, administrative, and knowledgeable about general aviation aircraft maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma.
A bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in aviation or related field is preferred.
Experience: One year of experience in maintenance operation is required.
Preferred five years of managing/leading an aircraft maintenance operation
Licensure & Certifications: FAA Airframes and Powerplant (A&P) license/certification

- 40% - Coordinate and manage the daily assignment of required aircraft maintenance tasks needed to ensure the airworthiness of university aircraft - (Essential)
- 20% - Coordinate and manage the prioritization of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance to ensure assets availability to meet daily flight training requirements to support the university's flight training program. - (Essential)
- 20% - Assists in prioritizing the allocation of resources, both personnel and equipment, to maximize the safe, efficient, and effective conduct of all assigned flight events - (Essential)
- 10% - Coordinate aircraft maintenance schedules with the Chief Flight Instructor and Operations Manager - (Essential)
- 5% - Coordinate and manage with appropriate maintenance vendors to ensure a sufficient supply of required support items to include engines, propellers, flight controls and other items - (Essential)
- 5% - other duties as assigned - (Essential)
