Job Summary:
The Receiving Assistant Supervisor at our tech manufacturing facility assists the Receiving Supervisor in overseeing the day-to-day operations related to material receipt and stocking. This role ensures receiving processes are meticulously followed, with all incoming materials properly inspected, verified, and stocked in a timely manner. The assistant supervisor coordinates the team, assigns tasks, takes attendance, enforces procedures, and ensures seamless cross-departmental communication. They play a key role in supporting overall material flow to meet production requirements while upholding an organized and safe work environment. This position operates on a Monday-Thursday schedule, 6 PM to 6 AM. Training will initially take place during a standard Monday-Friday 8-hour shift before transitioning to the designated schedule.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Support:

  • Attendance & Scheduling: Take daily attendance and ensure all receiving team members are positioned according to workload and priorities.
  • Position Assignment: Assign staff to specific tasks such as material verification, inspection, or stocking, based on individual skills and operational needs.
  • Process Enforcement: Ensure strict adherence to established receiving processes, including accurate documentation, proper material labeling, and maintaining stock accuracy.
  • Team Development: Provide training and guidance to receiving staff, ensuring they are well-informed about their responsibilities and equipped to execute them efficiently.
  • Workplace Culture: Promote a positive, collaborative, and organized work environment, encouraging team members to achieve high performance.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Material Inspection and Stocking: Assist in overseeing the accuracy of material verification, ensuring all received goods are inspected and stocked promptly in line with company procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure all receiving documentation, including packing slips and records, is accurately completed and properly stored.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between the receiving department and other departments, such as Inventory Control and Quality Assurance, to facilitate smooth material flow.
  • Error Mitigation: Monitor operations for discrepancies and errors, taking corrective actions to reduce stock errors or delays in material stocking.
     

Safety & Compliance:

  • Health & Safety: Ensure all receiving operations comply with safety regulations, including safe handling of materials and adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure the team adheres to company security policies and maintains confidentiality regarding material records and processes.
     

Job Qualifications

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education or technical training in logistics or inventory control is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations; tech manufacturing background is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Jabil’s software systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and inventory management software.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to review and interpret receiving documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying and addressing issues within receiving operations with quick, effective solutions.
  • Mathematical Aptitude: Proficiency in basic math and the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, quantities, and material costs.
     

Leadership & Communication:

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain procedures
