<p><strong>Essential Job Functions </strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership to the Country on Ocean product and drive the global and regional Ocean strategy and programs to develop and enhance operations that align with the company business plan and larger operational strategies; provides input to leaders in developing operational and related business strategies within the region. </li> <li>Lead the Country operational departments through the desired strategic transformation, focused on serving its customers in a unique and differentiated way through increased innovation, value-added design and engineering and systems development. </li> <li>Leading the country management of expectations for executives and leaders, facilitates communication on business requirements and establishes critical performance metrics as these relate to the ocean product and services.</li> <li>Drive productivity and performance improvement programs through optimization of process, structure in line with Country Ocean strategy. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Global/Regional Ocean leadership and drive the development and/or deployment of new processes and solutions within the country.</li> <li>Manage the countries operations teams as per the organization chart. </li> <li>Liaise with other ocean product leaders to elaborate/ support ocean strategies and solutions. </li> <li>Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within the ocean region/country operations team. </li> <li>Manages Ocean carrier relationships.</li> <li>Leads and manages Ocean contract negotiations for the service scope responsibility identified and supports managers for other areas as needed.</li> <li>Completes monthly trend analysis.</li> <li>Participates in client QBRs with CWW clients as needed.</li> <li>Supports Inside sales/ bid/ RFQ team.</li> <li>Conducts Market Intelligence reporting.</li> <li>Leads analytics, metrics and reporting needs and improvements for the Ocean Product Management team.</li> <li>Review and authorize service contract amendments.</li> <li>Oversees maintenance of the CWW Rate Matrix</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p><strong>Physical Requirements </strong></p> <ul> <li>Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment.</li> <li>Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.</li> <li>Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Skills and Abilities </strong></p> <ul> <li>Analytical and comfortable with processing and interpreting data</li> <li>Positive attitude and able to think creatively.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Team player with ability to work independently.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Self-starter, motivated and driven.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Proficient in MS Office applications</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to work in a very fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to multi-task with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Keen sense of urgency, passion and focus</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Effective time manager with ability to prioritize without direction.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Ability to travel up to 30% of time.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education &amp; Experience </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree preferred.</li> <li>10 years of global forwarding or Ocean carrier management experience preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Disclaimer</strong>:</p> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position.  They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.  All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.</p>
