POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State Extension is hiring an Extension Educator for the Lehigh or Berk's County Extension office. The Extension Educator will develop and teach appropriate curriculum on energy development and the effects of this development on agriculture, economics, and communities. The individual will work independently, collaboratively, and across multiple disciplines to conduct holistic needs assessments, establish learning objectives, develop educational materials, host educational programs and projects, utilize evaluation to measure program success, and develop appropriate impact documentation to illustrate the value and relevancy of quality programming. The Extension Educator will be responsible for growing partnerships, program offerings and publications, funding, and stakeholder impacts.
Responsibilities:
Develop educational materials that are tailored toward each audience in 36 communities across Pennsylvania. This development will be done collaboratively with other members of the energy team and should consider the types of energy development that exist in each community and proposed new energy projects. This development should consider and anticipate questions and concerns that come from farmers, landowners, elected officials, and community members.
Deliver educational materials. This should be a combination of in-person workshops, articles, videos, and other delivery methods. This delivery should be a high-quality translation of complicated information that is distilled into language and examples that are accessible to non-experts in energy.
Develop partnerships with stakeholders. In order to develop, deliver, and market energy programs in communities across the Commonwealth, partnerships with knowledge and community-based stakeholders will need to be developed, nurtured, and strengthened.
Conduct evaluations, surveys and needs assessments to build knowledge and evaluate impact of energy production.
