Boeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) seeks Engineering Technical Specialists to serve as Proposal Engineering Activity Support on our Precision Engagement Systems (PES) team located in Saint Charles, Missouri.
In this role you will be responsible for leading proposal efforts across the Precision Engagement Systems portfolio of products and across multiple engineering disciplines.
As a part of the Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SIWS) organization, Precision Engagement Systems (PES) is a dynamic and growing team with leadership that is focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers’ missions, we deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent.The programs we support in Saint Charles, MO include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon and development weapons) utilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) Proposal Technical team deliverables and schedules.
- Breakdown customer statement of work (SOW) into requirements for different functions to utilize in creating an estimate for customer proposals.
- Plan, identify, and coordinate resources required over the life of the project or proposal.
- Provide technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.
- Work with cross-functional organizations including various engineering functions, supplier management, procurement, contracts, and finance.
- Identify risk, issue, and opportunity, as well as plan development and implementation to include issue resolution and plan changes.
- Communicate with program management and customers to help define requirements.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, domestically or internationally depending on business needs.
In order to meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in Saint Charles, MO.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with proposals, Request For Information (RFIs), or Request For Proposal (RFPs).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience analyzing business/engineering requirements.
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
- Experience with Export Compliance or International programs.
- Defense Industry Experience.
- Project management experience in an engineering environment.
- Engineering project planning or project management.
- Supporting weapons systems.
- Working directly with government customers.
- Collaborating across functions and organizations.
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders.
Typical Education & Experience:
Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.)
Lead (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
