If you are looking to pursue a career in audit after you graduate, an 8-week summer placement at Moore Kingston Smith is a great way to get started. Whilst working in a supportive environment, you’ll gain a variety of hands-on experience and responsibility, with exposure to different businesses and sectors. Alongside this, you’ll be developing professional skills and technical knowledge through training and teamwork. We’re an accredited training firm, committed to giving everyone who joins us first class training in a personal and friendly working environment.
Our Advice, Audit & Accounts team are trained to have broad experience across a range of disciplines, from audit and accounts through to tax and other advisory services, so we can support our clients cross-discipline solutions. These teams work with clients who vary in size, from sole traders to medium and large businesses, across a wide range of sectors including media, technology and real estate.
Key Responsibilities
Whilst on summer placement, key responsibilities might include:- Reviewing basic sets of unincorporated or company accounts with reference to the relevant Financial Reporting Standards/Statement of Recommended Practice and legal requirements
- Building an understanding of audit testing and approach when assisting the audit team
- Attending client meetings with the wider team
- Supporting drafting of audit fieldwork and other documents
- Processing client accounting information using relevant software
- Working on a group project with the internship cohort
- Attending lunch & learn sessions to learn about the wider business services

- Enthusiasm for building strong relationships and collaborating with clients and colleagues, with close support from your manager.
- A proactive, results-driven attitude that ensures excellent client service.
- Strong commitment and reliability.
- A growth mindset and adaptable approach, with a willingness to continuously acquire new skills and knowledge, supported by your manager and dedicated early talent team.
- Have obtained at least 112 UCAS points from three A-Levels, or equivalent qualifications
- Be on track to achieve a 2:2 or above, from a degree in any discipline
- Be available and permitted to work in the UK, from the start date of the programme
Recruitment process

- Final interview in the office which you’re being considered for
