Summary
This internship role will work closely with the Vice President, Asset Management and Acquisitions Manager in order to support the BAM Companies’ continued growth and development. This role is intended to focus on the two departments which the aforementioned leaders oversee, but will also spend time in each facet of the business. By the end of the program, the internship will also have exposure to:
- People Management
- Property Management Operations On-Site
- Technology Systems
This role is one that will allow the individual to learn about capital investment and the management of multi-family assets (apartment communities). A successful person in this new and rewarding role is someone who can take on new tasks and challenges suddenly, adapt to changing information, is teachable, and is able to creatively think of solutions to everyday challenges.
As a ten-week program, this role will have the time and opportunity to learn from a variety of company leaders and dig into the overall operations of a real estate investment owner and operator or multi-family assets.
Essential Job Functions
- Support of Acquisitions and Dispositions Activities, such as:
- Underwriting potential acquisition opportunities
- Compile and digest market data
- Due diligence review and facilitation
- Crafting the budget templates and process for the 2026 year.
- On-site experience at BAM apartment communities
- Shadowing and completing projects for finance, accounting, and other departments.
- Ad Hoc Analyses and Special Projects
- Cost/benefit Analyses on certain expenses/contracts/systems in place)
- Market Research
- Rent and Sale Comparisons
- Present a capstone presentation at the end of the program.
- Review of property financials and narratives on a monthly basis.
- Understand current asset performance and how success is measured across the portfolio.
- Assist with maintaining a checklist of regular items to ensure and facilitate completion of each item.
- Analyze competitive properties and assess their impact on acquisition and asset management strategies.
- Compile and present research findings to support strategic decision-making.
