About the role

ChemTreat is seeking a Senior Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of existing industrial water treatment accounts within the Knoxville, TN – Southeast Tennessee territory, with a primary emphasis on customers in the fiberglass manufacturing and data center operations sectors, along with additional key accounts across the assigned region.

In this role, the majority of time will be dedicated to strengthening and expanding established customer relationships, ensuring continued delivery of ChemTreat’s value proposition and measurable return on investment. The Senior Account Manager will work closely with long-standing clients to understand evolving operational needs, optimize water treatment programs, and improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

While the primary focus is on existing account management and growth, the position also includes responsibility for developing new business opportunities within the Southeast Tennessee territory to support profitable expansion. This role requires a consultative, technical sales approach and close collaboration with customers and internal technical teams to solve complex water treatment challenges and reinforce ChemTreat’s position as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Growth

· Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to increase ChemTreat’s market share within the Southeast Tennessee territory

· Achieve and exceed targets for profitable sales volume and margin growth

· Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts

· Create and present compelling proposals to customers and prospects

Customer Relationship Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across customer organizations

· Conduct regular engagement through strategic questioning, follow-ups, and on-site visits

· Communicate ChemTreat’s value proposition effectively to customers

· Collaborate with technical teams to address customer needs and retention strategies

Technical & Operational Support

· Troubleshoot site-specific process and water treatment issues

· Perform audits of key unit operations as needed

· Engage internal technical staff to develop effective solutions

Business Development & Collaboration

· Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, and strategic networking

· Partner with internal teams to strengthen account strategies

· Support recruiting efforts by attracting and screening candidates when needed

· Represent ChemTreat professionally during customer entertainment and industry engagement

Education & Experience

· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required

· 7+ years of relevant professional experience

· 5+ years of experience interacting with personnel at all levels of an organization

· Experience in water treatment preferred

Skills & Competencies

· Strong organizational and self-management skills

· Self-motivated with a strategic and solution-oriented mindset

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

· Ability to build trust-based relationships with customers and internal teams

· Strong technical aptitude in industrial water treatment applications

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Ability to identify problems and develop practical, effective solutions

· Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills

Physical Requirements

· Ability to travel frequently within the Southeast Tennessee territory depending on account needs

· Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform field-based activities

· Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs; occasionally up to 250–800 lbs with equipment assistance

· Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights when required

· Frequent use of hands for computer work and field operations

· Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including indoor industrial sites and outdoor facilities

Work Environment

· Exposure to industrial sites such as boiler houses, cooling towers, water and wastewater plants, and process facilities

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye, hearing, respiratory protection, gloves, and safety footwear

· Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals and high-noise environments

· Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments

· Collaborative, customer-facing role interacting across multiple organizational levels
