About the role

Under direct supervision, the Faculty Process Support Specialist will be responsible for providing faculty process support to a designated set of departments/business units. The incumbent will need to understand how and when to engage various institutional offices, as well as facilitate and optimize all interactions throughout the 'faculty life cycle' from initial appointment to promotion to Emeritus and more. Assists with facilitating the alignment of policies and faculty processes to ensure compliance with institutional standards.

  • Facilitates appointment processes to ensure requirements are met.
  • Translates faculty recruitment and initial appointment process materials into the process-appropriate electronic documents.
  • Supports Adjunct/Adjoint appointment processes, reviews packet for accuracy and completeness, and obtains required approvals.
  • Serves as an information resource for the departmental administrative leadership team.
  • Executes and demonstrates comprehensive understanding of UT Health Careers for all faculty recruiting and appointment process steps while in dialogue with department contact.
  • Supports compliance in conducting all faculty separation, termination, and retirement processes.
  • Supports the full range of Promotion, Tenure, and Appointment Committee (PTAC) and Post-Tenure Evaluation (PTE) process requirements.
  • Anticipates PTAC-related initial faculty appointment process needs, PTAC-related faculty appointment changes, e.g., ‘internal promotion' process, Emeritus honors nominations.
  • Communicates requirements related to faculty evaluations and reporting.
  • Coordinates service hand-offs with other stakeholders.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate professionally with a high level of discretion, to effectively interact with various individuals, and to represent UT Health San Antonio.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • No experience with degree; four (4) years’ experience in lieu of education is required.
