About the role

Assignment description For our client we're looking for an Observability and Monitoring Specialist. As Observability and Monitoring Specialist, you will be part of a team handling major incidents and supporting development teams for our clients workshop tools. The team acts as the gateway between the support organization and the development teams, with responsibilities including system ownership, major incident management, and ownership of monitoring from a customer perspective. In this role, your main focus will be to own and improve the monitoring of the tool, including dashboards, alarms, and observability capabilities, to ensure early detection of issues and efficient troubleshooting. You will use monitoring as a key tool in initial incident investigation and help route issues to the right development team. Responsibilities: - Own and improve dashboards, alarms, and monitoring for business-critical services in the workshop tool. - Drive improvements in observability, alerting, and logging from a customer and workshop perspective. - Use monitoring and system insight to perform initial troubleshooting during incidents. - Support major incident handling and help coordinate issues towards the correct development team. - Collaborate closely with development teams and other stakeholders to improve monitoring and system reliability. - Communicate clearly with stakeholders and contribute to Root Cause Analysis and follow-up improvements. Requirements: - Experience working with monitoring or observability for software services. - Experience with Datadog or comparable monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus). - Strong interest in IT, systems, and troubleshooting. - Ability to use monitoring and dashboards as a tool for initial incident investigation. - Available to work OnCall with 24/7 support on a scheduled rotation. Personal/Soft skills: - Curious and structured problem solver - Clear and calm communicator, especially during incidents - Strong ownership mindset with end-to-end accountability - Open-minded and eager to learn, with the ability to turn a solid engineering background into practical impact across technical domains Other Specifications / Nice to have: - Knowledge about Scania´s electrical system and embedded systems in vehicles. - Software development experience
