Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This role provides exposure to various aspects of engineering design for manufacturing.  This position will require interaction with our customers and sales executives, other mechanical and electrical design engineers, manufacturing personnel, and customer service technicians.  Our goal is to give you a comprehensive understanding of how engineering principles are applied in our industry.

Term: Summer 2025

Location: BW Flexible Systems in Duncan, SC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate current machine capabilities and design configurations required for new, unique, specialized product applications. 

  • Design new fixtures or modifications to existing equipment to satisfy customer applications. 

  • Develop new and updated mechanical systems for vertical and horizontal form/fill/seal packaging machinery and product feed systems. 

  • Design responsibilities will include design of  individual components and assemblies.

  • Solidworks modeling

  • Conduct USDA/FDA research and apply knowledge/understanding.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program, working towards a degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in mechanical engineering while contributing to meaningful projects that drive innovation in manufacturing.
