Maintenance Worker I

The City of Ojai is thrilled to invite applications for 1.5 Maintenance Worker I positions. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our beautiful city's facilities and infrastructure. We have one full-time position and one part-time position (0.5 FTE) available. The part-time position will be assigned to the Recreation Department, focusing on general maintenance and groundskeeping duties at our park facilities. As a Maintenance Worker I, you'll:

• Engage in a variety of tasks, from skilled to unskilled, involving construction, maintenance, repair, and installation of public works services in City buildings, facilities, streets, parks, and rights-of-way.
• Maintain storm drains, streets and sidewalks, signs, and public works equipment.
• Provide routine landscape maintenance at city parks and facilities.
• For the Recreation Department position: Perform general maintenance and groundskeeping duties at park facilities.

We're seeking candidates who:

• Can perform various construction, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• Have a basic understanding of tools, equipment, and procedures used in public works maintenance and repair.
• Are able to follow instructions and work independently when needed.

COMPENSATION

Salary: Maintenance Worker I: $27.12 - $32.98 per hour

Full-Time Employees Receive:

• Deferred Compensation: City match of 3% of salary or $200/month, whichever is greater.
