The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.

This position has an annual rate of $75,000 or commensurate with experience.

The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Communications Manager manages the agency’s overall communications strategy, ensuring alignment across internal and external messaging to enhance public awareness, strengthen employee engagement, and manage Service Oklahoma’s reputation. This role oversees the External Communications Manager, Internal Communications Manager, and Public Information & Social Media Manager to ensure a cohesive approach across public relations, internal messaging, partnerships, and executive communications. Working closely with subject matter experts, this position develops and distributes key communications, including reports, press releases, internal and external newsletters, and multimedia content.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and manages strategic communications initiatives to strengthen, protect, and advance the agency’s internal and external reputation, identity, and brand in a professional, ethical, and transparent manner.
  • Ensures all agency communications align with strategic communication plans, reinforce brand awareness, and maintain a consistent voice across all platforms.
  • Identifies and executes new communication opportunities that further the agency’s mission, enhance public trust, and engage key stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements integrated communication strategies, unifying social media, traditional media, partnership communications, internal messaging, and executive communications.
  • Provides project management oversight for cross-functional communications initiatives, ensuring effective collaboration across departments and alignment with agency goals.
  • Oversees the development, review, and execution of internal and external communications, including external campaigns, websites, multimedia content, and employee engagement materials, ensuring consistency and adherence to content standards.
  • Leads internal communication efforts, including newsletters, leadership updates, and employee engagement messaging, fostering a positive, informed culture and ensuring alignment across teams.
