Job Summary:
Directs the operations, development, and expansion of the Medical Group to ensure provision of high quality, cost-effective medical services. Directs overall clinical, quality, administrative and fiscal aspects of the organization. Provides leadership and guidance of the performance of Practice Managers and senior level clinical professional staff Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgement, including staff and provider partners.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree: Required
- Master's Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a nurse practitioner degree: Preferred
- Ten years' related experience: Preferred
- Five years leadership experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Works with site medical expense team to provide direction for actions to control targeted costs for medical services. Conducts regular agenda driven meetings with staff to address issues, concerns, and to communicate mission of organization.
- Manages operations in a cost-effective and efficient manner and pursues opportunities to improve overall financial performance of the Medical Group. Strategizes with the senior staff regarding program expansion, business development and new care models.
- Focuses on quality improvement, utilization and reducing medical costs while incorporating the skills of provider partners whenever possible. Ensures appropriate clinical capital equipment is vetted and purchased, within the parameters of the quarterly capital budget cycle.
- Plans, budgets, organizes and manages the department to accomplish operational and strategic objectives. Provides leadership to staff, giving direction and guidance to managers and staff as appropriate. Ensures appropriate staffing and hiring, evaluation and discharge of Medical Group non-provider staff, within the parameters of the operating budget.
- Oversees all value based arrangements, including health plan program relationships/contracts, clinical execution, and compensation/contract reconciliations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
