Sr. Digital Product Manager – Clinical Algorithms

Primary Function of Position

Responsible for defining the clinical algorithm and formula strategy for the surgical digital health product team

• Provides deep product expertise needed to make product requirement and prioritization decisions. Analyzes competitive product features and usability, communicating a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer clinical needs.

• Manages the clinical algorithm and formula strategy including evaluating internal development and external partnership opportunities to accelerate time to market and probability of success.

• Collaborates with the IOL and diagnostics teams to align strategy to their product road map and competitive threats.

• Partners with R&D and engineering throughout development to ensure clinical needs and product requirements are met.

• Manages KOL relationships to ensure the strategy is appropriately informed by users and industry thought leaders.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate it effectively to internal and external stakeholders as well as the team

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the optimal clinical outcomes and strategic business needs are embedded into the product requirements

• Works closely with Product Director / Head of Product to establish product team’s business value and support messaging, communication and customer outreach as necessary

Qualifications and key skills:

• Deep knowledge of IOL calculation and AT-IOL selection criteria
• Deep knowledge about the Alcon IOL and competitor IOL portfolio
• Biometry expertise
• Topography expertise preferred
• Knowledge about pre-op diagnostic testing and how the results inform or influence surgeon decision making process
• Knowledge about the cataract patient journey and the barriers to advanced technology adoption
• 2+ years of Alcon surgical commercial experience in either sales, marketing or sales training positions
• Experience managing cross-functional teams without authority
• Experience overseeing projects at either a country, regional or global level
• Product launch experience preferred
• Ability to learn ML and AI principles

Craft

• Ability to gather requirements and translate them into a product vision
• Proficient in high quality project oversight, including planning, stakeholder management, and delivery execution & governance
• Experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams from commercial, clinical and regulatory
• Experience presenting to leadership audiences
• Ability to form collaborative relationships with Alcon KOLs

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs) 

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
