JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Administrative Associate 1 provides direct and dedicated administrative support for front office (non-clinical) operations. This position triages phone calls, performs records management, and data entry while handling administrative tasks of the Death Investigators.
- Triage phone calls and routes accordingly.
- Receives and monitors creation request/approval, keys information into DID once reviewed and approved, files not-seen cases and cremation request/approvals, and maintains running counts of cases.
- Documents and relay messages.
- Provides case-related information to outside individuals as appropriate.
- Provides building access to public visitors, other agencies, funeral homes, and vendors.
- Retrieves blood samples, radiology CDs, and other items from area hospitals.
- Processes all deposits and other payments for services conducted; invoices for services provided by the facility outside of Shelby County, and special arrangements.
- Manages inventory controls and assists with ordering clinical and non-clinical supplies for each auxiliary within the Forensic Center.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of administrative experience; OR Associate’s degree in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate with grieving family members, either in-person or over the telephone, in a compassionate manner.
- Advanced skills in standard office computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat).
- Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information professionally.
