Job Description:

GDIT is looking for a Storage Engineer to join our National Institutes of Health (NIH) CIT Hosting and Storage Services Program.

This is a HYBRID role - 3 days on customer site in Bethesda MD.

This role will require you to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility.  This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.

Responsibilities:

• Support SAN/NAS storage and backup environments
• Manages storage provisioning, backups, and recovery
• Performs storage troubleshooting and capacity tracking
• Updates storage documentation and baselines
• Data replication, synchronization, and backup/restore processes across hybrid cloud environments
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on storage best practices, backup, recovery, and DR procedures

Required Qualifications:

• BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 6 years supporting SAN/NAS storage and backup environments;
• Experience with provisioning, replication, and performance checks;
• Skilled in storage documentation
• Experience with documentation, effectively sharing insights, and developing standard operating procedures
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Solutions Architect certification
• AWS Advanced Networking certification
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and application teams, to ensure storage architecture meets project requirements and organizational standards
• Hands-on experience with key AWS services, including S3, EC2, VPC, and Lambda, for automation and infrastructure management
• Strong knowledge of data replication, synchronization, and backup/restore processes across hybrid cloud environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex requirements and deliver effective solutions
• Ability to effectively communicate

The likely salary range for this position is $107,950 - $146,050. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
