Job Description

The Senior Sales Tax Accountant will be responsible for the detail review of multistate and Canadian indirect tax returns and ensure all returns are timely and accurately filed.  Job duties include:

• Detail review of multistate sales and use tax returns.
• Detail review of Canadian GST returns.
• Responsible for review and maintenance of indirect tax return calendar to ensure all returns are timely filed.
• Review monthly tax account reconciliations and reporting in Blackline.
• Work with the business to evaluate taxability of new products and assign tax categories.
• Review nexus and maintain up-to-date taxability matrices for the companies.
• Review other business tax filings, such as property tax returns and annual business reports.
• Assist the Sales Tax Manager on projects and tax audits, as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• 4+ years of multistate sales tax experience, with at least 1 year of experience reviewing returns.
• Experience working in a company with a high volume of returns (200+ returns per month) and with multiple filing entities preferred.
• Experience working with Vertex O and Vertex Returns and/or Onesource preferred. 
• SAP and/or Oracle knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail with ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to balance working in multiple systems and maintain tax registrations across those systems.
• Team player with a positive attitude.

Additional Information

The salary for this role is $73,000 - $93,000 depending on experience
