About this Role
As a clinical therapist, you will be a core member of a multidisciplinary care team that seeks to redefine care delivery to patients receiving Medicaid. You will provide mental health counseling to patients who have a wide spectrum of severity and co-morbid conditions and you will need to be versatile with approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, problem solving treatment, and behavioral activation.
You will counsel through telehealth modalities (SMS, phone, and app-free video) as part of a broader team that includes community health workers who see patients in person, pharmacists who assist with medication challenges, and care coordinators embedded in primary care clinics that Waymark supports with wrap-around services. You should be familiar with and supportive of the Collaborative Care Model of supporting mental health of patients in partnerships with primary care providers and, when appropriate, psychiatrists.
Job Location: Fully Remote and willing to work Eastern Standard Time zone.
License: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Independent (Clinical) Social Worker (LCSW). Waymark is willing to sponsor the Virginia state licensing.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Deliver evidence-based psychosocial treatments and behavioral interventions for common mental health disorders in the Medicaid population.
- Coordination of therapy needs including triage across the spectrum from mild to severe mental illness.
- Communicate with primary care providers and psychiatrists, and provide feedback to community health workers and pharmacists on Waymark’s multidisciplinary care team.
- Deliver evidence-based psychosocial treatments and behavioral interventions for common mental health disorders in the Medicaid population.
Required Qualifications
- Deep commitment to improving healthcare for underserved populations.
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)/Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Independent (Clinical) Social Worker (LCSW)/Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). Waymark is willing to sponsor state licensing.
- 2+ years post-Master’s-degree experience in case management of patients with behavioral health needs.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with underserved populations, across spectrum of moderate to severe behavioral health conditions, including psychosis.
- Trauma-informed and harm reduction approach to substance use disorders.
Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $92,00.00. Compensation will depend on multiple factors, including job location, training, education, and experience.
Benefits and Other Compensation: Medical, vision, dental, basic life insurance, and stock options available for the hired applicant. Employees also receive twenty (20) vacation days, accrued over the year and eleven (11) paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Sixteen (16) weeks of parental leave for birthing parents will also be available for use after successful completion of six (6) months of employment, eight (8) weeks of bonding leave for non-birthing parents. Employees are able to enroll in our 401(k) plan and commuter benefits plan.
