ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Delegates workflow and establishes work schedules for Physical Security Technician I, managing the electronic access control system. Receives service requests via ServiceNow, email, and phone, and prioritizes calls based on the impact to enterprise safety. Responds to phone calls, emails, voicemail, verbal requests and work orders. Issues and tracks work orders; documenting all repairs, services and maintenance performed. Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure timely resolution of service issues. Manages vendor activities related to emergency repairs of all security systems, including after-hours system failures, troubleshooting hardware and equipment issues, and restoring systems to proper operating condition.
2. Coordinates system maintenance, equipment replacement, and repair scheduling across multiple locations, collaborates with shops and vendors, and supports planning, procurement, and access control processes. Leads the development and implementation of new security functions to align with enterprise and community goals. Ensures compliance with professional standards, directives, policies, and applicable regulations.
3. Oversees DSX Mobile and Radio Communications workstations, performing advanced diagnostics, system repairs, and resets. Programs complex DSX workstation profiles and manage multi-site access control configurations. Leads planning and procurement efforts, and coordinates with IT and Public Safety for system integration. Manages user accounts and ensures compliance with identity and access management policies.
4. Leads complex troubleshooting of low-voltage electrical systems, including root cause analysis and resolution. Oversees installation and testing of electrical circuits and sensors. Ensures compliance with industry standards and manages documentation of testing and maintenance activities.
5. Leads new construction and renovation projects by evaluating vendors, selecting technologies, and overseeing system testing and integration. Ensures compliance with contracts and security standards. Trains Public Safety team members on system operations and maintenance.
6. Serves as the first point of contact for escalated issues. Quickly identifies and resolves complex equipment-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
7. Manages inventory of spare parts and critical components for access control and electronic systems. Notifies supervisor of supply needs and ensures readiness for emergency repairs.
8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in public or private sector security required.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience working with various electronic access control systems, and/or alarms systems required.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Demonstrated ability to apply physical security systems, including access control, low-voltage electrical components, panic alarms, vehicle gate hardware, and weapons detection systems.
Thorough understanding of access control systems and Synergis and the Genetec platforms.
Ability to diagnose software issues with access control and panic alarm systems, as well as hardware issues with vehicle gates and weapons detection systems.
Verifiable experience in applying physical security strategies, including access control systems, security protocols, loss prevention, and physical security system design.
Thorough knowledge of physical security principles and practices, including user identity and access controls and automated identity access management systems.
Strong understanding of policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to identity and access management.
Ability to become familiar with California Gaming Standards and regulatory requirements.
