About the Role
 
The Staff Accountant will be a key member of BetMGM’s finance team and will be involved in maintaining existing finance processes. In this role, the Staff Accountant will work closely with the Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager and provide accounting support across various areas of the business.  A successful candidate will possess keen attention to detail, strong finance & business acumen and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the month-end close process, including journal preparation

• Reconcile and manage balance sheet and income statement accounts

• Perform account reconciliations for both U.S. and Canada entities

• Manage accruals & prepayments across the business

• Communicate effectively with both internal and external parties

• Provide support for internal and external audit requests

• Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc requests, as needed

• Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time

Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 1-3 years of public (preferred) or corporate accounting experience

• General Ledger / Month-end Close experience (Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliations, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, etc.) is a plus

• CPA or CPA track

• Strong Excel Skills

• Experience using Oracle accounting system is a plus (not required)

The annual salary range for this position is $62,000 to $81,375. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position is also eligible for participation in a performance-based bonus plan.

Gaming Compliance & Licensing Requirements
 
As an online gaming company, BetMGM is required to comply with state gaming regulations which includes licensing obligations.  Applicable employees must be licensed by at least one jurisdictional agency, although certain positions require licensing by multiple agencies.  Failure to become licensed or maintain licensure with each agency as required for the role may result in termination of employment.  Please note that the licensing process includes comprehensive background checks which may include a review of criminal records, financial history, and personal background verification.

In addition, candidates must comply with and support the company's responsible gambling policies, procedures and initiatives.
