Reports to (Job Title): President, PSI


The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company’s end-to-end operational functions, including Quality Control, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Customer Service. This role ensures efficient, compliant, and scalable operations while driving continuous improvement, cost control, and exceptional customer satisfaction. The Director of Operations works closely with executive leadership to align operational strategy with business objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.  
  • Ensures work environments are adequate and safe. 
  • Oversees manufacturing, purchasing, maintenance, and Q.C. departments, ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of sales to achieve financial objectives. 
  • Manages supplier relationships and their performance for all direct and indirect supply partners.
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
  • Manage inventory to agreed upon goals.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Ensures compliance with customer supply agreements on all aspects within their purview.
  • Ensures compliance with appropriate ISO standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT(S):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):

  • 8+ years of progressive operations leadership experience
  • Proven experience overseeing manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and customer service functions
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, supply chain management, and production operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and driven change
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
