As an Auto Sales Assistant, this individual will perform a wide variety of semi- routine administrative support duties requiring the use of independent judgment, analysis, and detailed knowledge to assist members in the purchase of a vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Customer Service: 30%
- Greet Members and answers incoming telephone calls.
- Call Members referred to the RCU Auto Services by branch, member service center or other referrals to set appointments or sell vehicles.
- Clerical Support:50%
- Assist Auto Sales Manager with completion of monthly reports and other tasks as needed.
- Controls, creates, and submits invoices for payment for repairs, smog certifications and other reconditioning items on repossessed vehicles.
- Print checks and maintain records for vendor payments.
- Ensure the immediate collection of sales proceeds on each vehicle sold.
- Work closely with the Accounting Department to maintain RCUAS account balances.
- Assemble paperwork on Repossessed vehicles.
- Maintain inventory lists for each credit union’s repossessed vehicles.
- Determines appropriate location for repossessed units and schedules the transportation of the unit.
- Record and submit applications, claims and cancellations for guaranteed auto protection and mechanical breakdown warranties.
- Submit service contracts and guaranteed auto protection (GAP) refunds on repossessed vehicles.
- File Insurance claims on repossessed vehicles, when available.
- Evaluate and disseminate paperwork for CUNA/CPI claims on repossessed vehicles.
- Organize, schedule and transport repossessed vehicles for reconditioning.
- Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with auction, wholesale, and consignment partners.
- Establishes grade and floor pricing for units at auction.
- Partners with Auto Advisors to ensure sales paperwork is complete and organized.
- Complete and release DMV titles.
- Prepare and file DMV ‘Report of Sale’ within 5 days of sale.
- Ensure maximum flexibility to assist in a variety of functions as necessary. Perform vehicle inspections on vehicles including repos, inventory units & others as needed.
- Assist in directing & tracking the reconditioning, detailing & website marketing of inventory.
- Ability to drive cars to mechanics, detail vendors and other reconditioning vendors.
- Ability to move cars around and organize the dealership lot.
- Auto Sales: 10%
- Sell vehicles displayed on the auto buying lot.
- Sell mechanical breakdown warranties, guaranteed auto protection coverage and other vehicle related items.
- Prepare paperwork for the sale of the vehicle and loan.
- Research and solve member problems and complaints in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform all functions in a security conscientious manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of automobile loans.
- Knowledge of selling automobiles and/or other vehicles
- Knowledge to sell automobile accessories, mechanical breakdown warranties, and guaranteed auto protection (GAP).
- Excellent service skills.
- Skill in the operation of computers, printers, and modern office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to process vehicle sales paperwork.
- Ability to collect trade-in titling documents and loan payoff information.
- Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work.
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Ability to complete and submit DMV paperwork.
