JOB DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Tire & Automotive Center DATE:
JOB TITLE: Automotive Center Technician STATUS: Non – Exempt
PAY RANGE: $20.00-$25.00 / hr
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Location manager, provide complete tire sales and service to customers and the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness and ability to communicate with Location manager and fellow employees.
General duties would include alignment, suspension, and brake work. To assist in the flow of the shop, as the tire technician is doing tire installation and/ or oil changes, a visual inspection of each vehicle would be completed and recommendations noted.
Complete DOT paperwork as required.
Provides accurate unit numbers when doing work on company units. Requires complete purchase orders for all company work.
After reviewing recommendations with the Location manager, is responsible for completing the recommended work on vehicle.
Supply basic tools of the trade.
Attends all required meetings and training programs.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Adheres to the member company uniform policy and maintains the appropriate professional image.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience
Normally requires a 2 year college degree with a certificate showing completion of an auto mechanics program. This includes the understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, and maintenance of vehicles. Demonstrate the proper knowledge of tires.
Must be able or learn to operate tire shop and tire truck equipment, and basic computer application.
