Overview:
The Controllers organization at Capital One is seeking an energetic and experienced Director to lead a team of talented associates to deliver a modern ERP, advancing Finance’s long term modernization objectives through the implementation of a modern ERP foundation and essential accounting and reporting surround systems. This role requires executive level communication abilities, the capacity to navigate and resolve integrated challenges, and the skill to engage leaders across the organization. This role offers an opportunity to cultivate relationships across the organization and collaborate effectively to achieve Finance’s modernization agenda in partnership with the Business, Product, and Tech.
Specifics of the role include (but are not limited to):
Be a leader on the ERP Modernization Functional team by defining a compelling vision for the future state of critical business processes, driving the team's agenda, fostering associate growth and development, and achieving impactful results
Enable key partners with modern technology and streamlined business processes, exercising sound judgement to render and influence prioritization and trade-off decisions
Ensure business readiness of ERP stakeholders and leadership for a successful go live
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide regular updates on strategic initiatives
Communicate program insights through clear, high-impact presentations
Demonstrate a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates
General Responsibilities:
Create connections across the team and organization to drive collaboration and outcomes with Stakeholders, Product, Program, and Technology partners
Lead functional team and partner across the program and business users to design and implement new business processes
Leverage sound business judgment to evaluate options and formulate recommendations
Identify and drive opportunities to centralize, eliminate, automate activities in a scalable, sustainable and standardized manner
Provide strategic insights to business and finance partners
Communicate complex matters in a simple way to Finance leaders
Develop future state operating model for executing and maintaining business processes within the modern ERP and surrounds
Lead large complex initiatives by providing strategic direction to partners, peers, and direct reports.
Lead a highly dynamic and cross-functional team
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 7 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, risk management, or project delivery
At least 1 year of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
5+ years’ experience managing an operational accounting function or project delivery in financial services accounting and finance
2+ years of people management experience
1+ year of people management experience managing both direct and indirect reports

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Accounting
