Position Summary

The Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell Medicine seeks a Program Manager for cancer education and training. This leadership role will work closely with the MCC Associate Director (AD) of Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) to develop and evaluate a comprehensive curriculum that complements the rich academic programming within the institution. The program supports all levels of the biomedical workforce from early education for high school students to mentoring development for senior faculty. The Manager also facilitates applications for training and education grants. This role is an integral part of MCC efforts to align with requirements for NCI designation.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop targeted, innovative cancer education programming that supports the full breadth of the biomedical workforce, including high school students, graduate and postdoctoral researchers, medical students, early career and mature faculty, and staff.
• Collaborate with institutional offices and departments to extend existing programming to meet the needs of the MCC membership.
• Support applications for training grants both for individuals (for example, NIH F awards) and institutional programs (for example, NIH T and K awards)
• Work with the MCC Office of Community Outreach and Engagement to support educational programming aimed at community members and patients.
• Partner with the Education Division of the MCC Cancer Clinical Trials Office to support educational initiatives aimed at facilitating clinical trial enrollment.
• Integrate with MCC and institutional efforts to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion across educational programs.
• Serve as liaison between MCC and external education stakeholders to enhance shared training and career development activities.
• Gather training metrics, and track trainee career outcomes to support the development of the Cancer Center Support Grant, in addition to individual program reporting and evaluation.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience

• PhD degree in biomedical sciences preferred.
• 5 years of related experience in developing academic research training.
• Grant writing and editing experience. Prior experience in organizing and managing institutional training grants is preferred.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a variety of people, including internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated proficiency with data-driven analytical processes and outcome tracking.
• Proficiency with visualization and graphical representation of data
• Ability to work well with minimal supervision, to support multiple programs and priorities, consistently producing high-quality work.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor others and assist in the resolution of complex issues.
