URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a professional and energetic Accounting Assistant to join our ever-growing team.  The Accounting Assistant role will support the corporate accounting department in various capacities.  Cross-training in the areas of AR, AP, and Cash management. And assisting the Accounting Manager with month end closing and account reconciliations, transaction research and compliance reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

• Main point of contact for routing electronic invoices and resolving      inquiries and issues received by the company by email in the Accounts Payable email inbox. 
• Assist in processing invoices, verifying vendor payments, and      maintaining accurate records of payables.
• Function as primary administrator of the company credit card      program, maintaining cardholder accounts and overseeing the posting of      credit card transactions to the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation of journal entries and month end tasks.
• Maintain spreadsheets and assist in reconciling General Ledgers on a      monthly basis.
• Enter and post journal entries and complete month end tasks per the      month end close schedule.
• Perform compliance reporting requirements monthly, quarterly and      annually.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
  
   

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Education: High school degree or GED is required. Associate degree      in Accounting preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years accounting experience required
• Excellent with data entry
• Able to follow instructions and learn new systems
• Strong math and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
