SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Education supports multidisciplinary continuing education and joint accreditation. In conjunction with education leadership, coordinates all aspects of multidisciplinary continuing education operations, maintains online platform (EEDS), and manages timelines and requirements for joint accreditation. Acts as principal liaison to departments hosting continuing education events. Works collaboratively with all education departments to explore and develop research, evidence-based practice, and other scholarly projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree or three years of experience working in a role that supports continuing education in lieu of degree.

Experience: Six months previous experience working in a role that supports education or continuing medical education preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Possesses strong organizational, editing and proofreading skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Training:Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge of office scheduling processes. Experience in using a variety of computer software systems commonly used in GME offices, including developing expertise in New Innovations or preferred. . Familiarity with educational management platforms such as EEDS and New Innovations. Intermediate to advance ability in virtual platform (zoom).

Interacts professionally and respond efficiently to requests within and outside the organization. Can work autonomously and as a team member. Demonstrated capability to meet deadlines and complete assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides administrative support to education leadership. Ensures all continuing education activities are compliant with accreditation requirements.
  • Maintains EEDS platform for Continuing Education events and ensures completion of application, compliance, execution, and evaluation of all Continuing Education events.
  • Assists in preparation of annual Continuing Education reporting and accreditation compliance.
  • Acts as liaison to all departments hosting continuing education programs, network liaison to support departments for continuing education activities (IT/AV Media/Security/Food Services, etc.).
  • Maintains website information, both internet and intranet.
  • Coordinates moving Capital to Joint Accreditation Inter-professional Continuing Education by completing the application and establishing processes that assure compliance.
  • Works collaboratively with all education departments to explore and develop new research and evidence-based practice projects with goal of publication and/or presentation at a regional or national conference.
  • Establishes and maintains a lecture series for students and residents on clinical research.
  • Develops a multi-residency journal club to enhance curiosity and understanding of the latest medical advances across training programs.
  • Assists with all student, resident and faculty research projects to navigate the IRB process.
  • Provides assistance as needed to all areas of education.
  • Uses good judgment escalating matters to leadership that require guidance or assistance.
