The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.
The LA28 organizing committee is an independent, non-profit organization that is privately funded and governed by a board of directors.

Director, Legacy Works
The VNI (Venue Infrastructure) team plays a critical role in delivering competition and non-competition venues that are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Games Planning & Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed and developed with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion.
We are seeking an experienced leader in permanent infrastructure development to oversee the planning, design, and construction of legacy capital works projects associated with the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale, complex infrastructure and construction programs across multiple sites, and leading multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, and project managers. This role requires strategic leadership, expert-level project governance, and the ability to deliver long-term infrastructure outcomes that will serve communities well beyond Games-time. Experience working across public and private sector stakeholders and within high-performance environments is essential.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, adapt quickly to evolving priorities, and possess exceptional project organization and management skills. They will consistently embody LA28’s core values and behaviors in both their conduct and the quality of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Hire, train, and mentor staff, with a focus on developing high-performing teams that can deliver legacy works projects on time and within budget.
- Directly oversee design, engineering, and project delivery sub-functions, ensuring alignment with long-term objectives.
- Develop and manage the relevant department’s budget, including tracking of multi-year infrastructure investment programs and implementation plans.
- Transition to manage the delivery of temporary infrastructure work at a venue or cluster of venues.
