Job Overview
The Program Manager- Shovels owns the master schedule for new product development (NPD) programs for Electric Rope Shovels and is responsible for communicating the status to all stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates program activities internally within the OEM team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Quality, Product Management, Commercial Management, Sales, Product Support, Aftermarket/LCM, Technical Publications, Training, Safety, Finance and Human Resources) to ensure agreement, alignment and transparency.
- Engages outside of the OEM team with Suppliers, Sub-Contractors, KMT Service Centers and Distributors from first material order through commissioning of prototypes or field follow units to ensure engagement and execution of programs to schedule.
- Coordinates and chairs milestone and in-process reviews for each program in adherence to the Product/Market Leadership Process (PMLP)
- Provides program updates to the KMT Surface Executive Leadership team
- Ensures compliance to PMLP and make recommendations for improvement.
- Guides the loading business unit thru the migration of matrix-based NPD process to business-unit based NPD
- Develop project plans to support major engineering projects
- Develops plans that include project cost, schedule, tasks, resources, risk, etc.
- Monitors execution of plans to include cost, schedule, percent complete, risk, etc.
- Develops solutions to close gaps during the execution of project plans
- Provides regular project reports and status updates
- Tavel requirement is generally 10%-20% but could be up to 40% if necessary. This is a global position serving surface mining
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required, Master’s degree in business administration preferred. Business or Engineering focus is preferred
- At least 8+ years of project experience leading project management of product development
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
- Excellent communication skills
