POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Brand Marketing is a strategic, creative, and highly collaborative leader responsible for developing and executing brand marketing initiatives that elevate the institution’s reputation and advance its mission. This role oversees high-visibility campaigns and projects across multiple divisions including Arts & Wellness, Endowment, Corporate Affairs, and future development initiatives ensuring brand consistency, impactful storytelling, and audience engagement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and implement integrated brand marketing strategies that align with institutional priorities.
• Partner with senior leadership to define messaging, positioning, and brand identity across special projects.
• Provide counsel to internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional values, goals, and voice.
Campaign Management
• Oversee conception, planning, and execution of high-profile marketing campaigns that support institutional initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional teams, agency partners, and vendors to deliver high-quality creative and digital assets.
• Track campaign performance and optimize strategies for greater reach, engagement, and ROI.
Institutional Collaboration
• Work closely with the Arts & Wellness team to design campaigns that highlight community impact and program excellence.
• Support Endowment and Development teams with brand-forward materials that strengthen donor engagement and philanthropic efforts.
• Collaborate with Corporate Affairs to develop initiatives that advance corporate partnerships, visibility, and institutional positioning.
• Partner with the Executive Office to ensure consistent and effective communication on key priorities, build presentations for brand initiatives, deliver effective board member & colleague attire/gifts.
• Team-up with Communications & PR group to advance awareness of institutional initiatives, community advocacy and programs that support our mission.
Other
• Follow and support all operational policies and procedures. Assimilate into the arts center culture through understanding, supporting and demonstrating the core values.
• Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with other departments, colleagues, and partners.
• Able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Maintain Dr. Phillips Center standards of customer service at all times.
• Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms.
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with a proven track record in brand management and campaign development.
• Experience in nonprofit, cultural, or institutional settings highly desirable.
• Exceptional storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Creative, strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
